Q?Who are the awarding bodies for the programmes of study?
A.

(1) Society of Business Practitioners, UK  (2) Association of Accounting Technicians, UK   (3) Department of Skills Department, Ministry of Human Resource Malaysia

Q?How would I be assessed?
A.

For SKM – students will need to do assignments and go through Knowledge Tests.  AAT: students will register for on-line assessments which may comprise of Multiple-choice questions, short answer questions etc. SBP: Assignment 60%, Exams 40%.

 

Q?Do I have to buy any books?
A.

It depends on the course concerned. If SKM, all will be provided. Students will be taught how to build their portfolio.  Students may need to buy workbooks and tutorials if the course is AAT. There will be reference copies in the library. The centre, however, will provide additional learning materials. SBP; all learning materials will be provided.

 

Q?Do I get advance standing if I have work experience?
A.

If you have at least 4 years working in the Accounting field, you may apply to convert your work experience to a recognised qualification, awarded by Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resource.

Q?When are the classes conducted?
A.

The classes are conducted at varying times, depending on the group of target students. You will need to inquire within for details. In short, full time sessions from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm is for students pursuing SKM and/or AAT courses. There are, however, evening classes from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm for working adults.

Q?What is the entry requirement for SKM and/or AAT?
A.

The minimum entry requirement is 16 years of age.

Q?Are the instructors experienced in the fields of study?
A.

Our instructors and trainers have more than  20 years of industrialised and  teaching experience. We only focus on delivering subjects that we are good at which is Accounting and Business. Therefore, learners will receive specialist attention and help.

Q?What is the rate of success of the students in the centre?
A.

English Improvement Programmes: Learners have shown immense progress in their speech, writing, listening and other salient communication skills.

SBP Diploma in Business Administration: The adult learners have done averagely well in congruent with their busy schedule at work. The passing rate for the SBP Diploma in Business Administration meets 100%.

SKM Level 3 Accounting: 100% pass rate.

LCCI Diplomas: More than 65% pass rate.

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting: 2016 is our inaugural intake of students. Hence, no record of pass rate. The international pass rate is, however, 90%.

Q?How are the Accounting classes conducted?
A.

We believe in learning through participation and simulated tasks/ assignments. There will be lots of hands-on practice equipping students with work ready skills.

Q?How big or small are the classes?
A.

Classes are small, ranging from as small as 2 to a maximum of 15. We take pride in our teaching and makes it our mission to ensure that every student learns at their own pace.

Q?What is the medium of instruction?
A.

Classes are conducted in English as it is the Language of Workplace. However, there will be explanations in Malay or Mandarin where relevant to ensure that students understand.

Q?If I do not have a SPM certification, can I take up SKM, AAT and SBP courses?
A.

As long as you have the desire to learn and progress in your career, you are eligible. SKM and AAT,  you qualify if you are at least 16 years old.  If you wish to do the SBP Diploma in Business Administration, it is advantageous if you have at least 2 years of working experience.

Q?Why should we choose SSTC?
A.

We put students’ interests first and are committed to students’ progress. Students are welcomed to join other similar classes if they are lagging behind without additional charges. We do not have turnover of trainers and students are assured of stability and security.

Q?What kind of facilities does the centre have?
A.

The centre is furnished akin to one’s home. You will find it welcoming and cosy. The centre has a sitting/ reading area with a good range of story books, magazines and other literature. The centre has a DVD area where students can relax watching their favourite movies. Students if bored, can enjoy themselves in the Games Room. By the way, the centre is wifi enabled.
